Association Introduction

KSQA Korea Quality Assurance Assocation

1. KSQA Introduction

The Korean Society of Quality Assurance(KSQA) is an association that aims to improve practical competencies, exchange the latest information, and share domestic and international trends by educating personnel of GLP(good laboratory practice) and certification programs for quality assurance professionals (KSQA –RQAP).

The GLP QA is the key part of the association, and it maintains a mutual cooperation system with GCP (good clinical practice), GMP (good manufacturing practice), GVP (good pharmacovigilance practice), and GXP (good X practice) fields. The KSQA also signed MOU with the global quality assurance associations, including SQA, JSQA, and RQA, for the international cooperation

2. KSQA’s Main Programs

1) Education For regular educational programs, KSQA holds workshop (first half), conference (second half), and advanced educational course (summer). These programs focus on enhancing understanding on overall operation of GLP and improving proficiency of related workers in each field.

2) Registered Quality Assurance Professional (RQAP) Certification System The registered quality assurance professional system (KSQA-RQAP) certifies the professional quality assurance and manages qualification. This system is divided into probational and professional certifications. The probational certification grants qualification for taking the certification test throughout two years. The professional certification certifies the GLP quality assurance qualification. The professional certification holders must pass the document examination every three year for re-certification. Currently, there are 58 professional certification holders and 172 probational certification holders as of December 2023.

3. External Activities of KSQA

KSQA was founded as an association in 2008 and converted to a research cooperative in 2023. It is involved in education and training of workers in the good laboratory practice-related institutes, executing various national projects (good laboratory practice professional fostering, sample analysis activation / Ministry of Food and Drug Safety), participating in the international quality assurance-related conferences, and promoting Korean GLP. KSQA also carries out various domestic and international activities to be the leader of quality assurance in Korea.
